FR: Additional Sizes for Electra3

Hi, on my 23 inch Dell HD monitor(1920x1080), Electra is the only one I can't find a really comfortable size to work at.
All the others are fine (and I do have all the others).
I use it at 75% but its kind of small for my aging eyes because 100% is just a tad too big..

Of course the ideal for all is to allow the user to drag to the exact size he/she wants, but I could work with say a 90% size.
thanks

We do no use the JUCE framework or software graphics. Instead we support fast GPU hardware acceleartion with Direct2D.

Technically only zoom sizes with small integer number ratios (frequently prime numbers) do result in crisp and clean graphics and good performance.

"Good" ratios look like this:

50% = 1/2
75% = 3/4
100% = 1/1
150% = 3/2
200% = 2/1

90% would mean a ratio of 9/10. The result would look blurry and the layout of some elements would be cluttered. That's why there is no option for it.

Ahhh ok.. thanks.
And of course 66% is 2/3

(though I know you know 4 is not a prime number in the 3/4, so I assume what you mean is the numerator must be a prime number. But that can't be it cause 7/8 or 87.5% would work)
Anyway so I will have to work with what it is currently.

You're right. It must not necessarily be a prime number. Good ratios are fractions of small integer numbers.

I will run some tests with 7/8 (87.5%) and 5/6 (83.33%). If it looks nice I'll add it as an additional resolution.

Thank you.

Hi Markus, any update or progress on this?

I implemented your feature request in Electra 3.3
