Looking forward to seeing the new interface with more controls. I always thought that there was a lot of wasted space in Icarus that could have been used to show more controls, like the huge preset box or some of the waveform and filter displays. I'm very close to buying and I'm sure V2 will put me over the edge (if not sooner).

.... oh and don't forget to switch the cutoff and resonance positions! I think it's pretty much universal muscle memory to reach for cutoff on the left and resonance on the right!  ;)

Cutoff and Reso is already switched and less GUI space will be wasted :)
The Arp will be also bigger and no more tabs are necessary for the oscs and matrix

that is actually good news! Glad to read you're implementing ideas from the users!

Sounds amazing! I'm in!

It would be super if the cutoff and res of both filters were available at the same time as well, as that's something nice to tweak together. Maybe it's just me but I'd even prefer the matrix to be tabbed to allow for that. :)

Oh outstanding! Well then I guess MPE would be icing on the cake! But I'll be buying regardless I'm sure.

This looks like an awesome improvement, and the addition of MSEG's is something I am SOOOO Thankful for as I love synths with them. The GUI looks awesome tbh.

Amazing news! You'll get some extra exposure among linnstrument users and roli seaboard/blocks users as they post compatible sound engines on their websites so hopefully that pays off for you.

Here's a weird little silly request: The up/down arrows for presets, banks, waveforms etc. I feel like those would be comfortable if they were side by side as left/right arrows. I don't why but it just feels more natural, perhaps because more synths do it that way and I'm used to it.

down/up for banks and left/right for presets?

I´m really looking forward to Icarus2, great new features! Did you also find a way to enhance the workflow with the sliders in the wavetable editor?

New features:

- The interface has been re-designed completely. It is now more intuitive and efficient to use.
- The GUI can be displayed with 8 different sizes
- Added a random-button that generates new patches
- A midi-diode indicates incoming signals
- Added a realtime-display for the frequency-response of the equlalizer
- Arrows indicate modulation-sources which support drag-and-drop
- Addtional knobs for filter-panning
- Hi-dpi support for sharper text, graphs and knob-handles
- Added an optional keyboard which allows to play sounds without midi-input
- The effect-section has been reworked and is more easy-to-use
- Included a new LFO-type called 'White Noise' that outputs real random values
- Included a new LFO-type called 'Bandlimited Noise' that outputs tuned noise
- Included a new LFO-type called 'S&H Noise' that outputs BPM-synced noise
- Included a new LFO-type called 'S&H Noise Ramped' that outputs BPM-synced ramps
- Included a new LFO-type called 'S&H Noise Digital' that outputs BPM-synced digital-noise
- Added a new patch-browser
- Support for "polyphonic key pressure / aftertouch"
- Additional buttons to bypass FX1, FX2, FX3 and the feedback
- Additional knobs for filter-volume 1 and 2
- A classic wavetable-view has been added, which can be shown by clicking on the display
- 'FX3 Duck' changes the dry/wet mix of effect3 dynamically, resulting in a more transparent mix
- Small tiangles indicate hypersaw-spread and the streo-spread in the osc-section
- A triangle indicates the wavetable-index in the oscillator-scetion
- A triangle indicates the morph-value in the oscillator-scetion
- An addtional dry-wet knob allows to change the effect-mix in the main interface
- You can draw shapes by clicking with the right mouse-button onto the the step-lfo display
- The current value of the LFO and Step-LFO is displayed with a small circle
- A vertical line visualizes the current phase of the LFOs
- Many menus have been extended with checkmarks, which show the last selected item
- Additional on/off buttons for bypassing single effects
- Many additional realtime-animations for the interface
- Midi-out support for the keyboard and the arpeggiator
- Additional button to reset the patch-settings
- Pitchwheel and modwheel are displayed on the lower left and can be used as drag&drop modulation-source
- Note number and velocity can now also be also assigned with drag&drop
- Additional 'Tools-menu' for the arpeggiator

Multistage-envelope-generators:

Two MSEGs are available as additional modulation-sources. The MSEGs can be operated as LFO or envelope and allow you to create literally any shape you can imagine.
The MSEGs offer highest precision, support frequencies up into the audio-range and have been designed with the aspect of muscial usefulness.
The MSEGs can be synced to BPM, sync with the arpeggiator or run freely. Triads or dotted rhythms are also supported.
You can define loop-points and start points. Furthermore you can delay or fade the MSEGs.
You can move, add or delete points with your mouse. You can bend lines upwards or downwards to change their shape or even create completely rectangular curves.
The MSEGs can be edited completely freely or you can snap points to a grid of a selectable size. It is also possible to draw triangles, bars or ramps.

- Enhanced performance for drag&drop
- Higher precision limiter displays
- Many small enhancements for the interface
- Many small performance-optimisations
