Icarus / Re: Icarus 2 - Gliding notes
« Last post by Markus Krause on Today at 08:41:46 AM »
Hello Moni,

Yes. This is possible.

1) Init a new patch

2) On the top left change Polyphonic 12 to Monophonic

3) Change the Glide knob to a value around 60%

Best Regards,
Markus

Icarus / Icarus 2 - Gliding notes
« Last post by Moni on April 22, 2024, 08:50:27 PM »
Is there a way to make Icarus 2 glide from note to note no matter what, instead of (seemingly) requiring notes to overlap?

And is there a way for the glide to only happen with overlap OR when notes are right next to each other?

So far, I've only managed to trigger gliding when notes overlap.

Tone2 Electra3 / Re: Custom Wave Window

I recommend that you check out Icarus3. This synth has very deep waveform and wavetable editing capabilities.

Custom Waveforms & Resynthesis in Tone2 Electra3

The Custom Wave oscillator type allows you to load user-waveforms. I also allows to resynthesize waveforms from samples which the synth automatically tunes and loops.

The PW control can be used to modulate the pulsewidth of the waveform.

The Start point control changes the start phase of the waveform. Setting it to 100% will change it to Free-running and cause the phase to be randomly changed every time a note is played.

'Custom Wave ->load Wave ' will open a standard file browser where you can load your own sample files (.wav file extension).
How the synth resynthesizes your sample depends on the size of the sample file.
File with less than 4096 samples: The synth will treat these sample files as a single cycle waveform and will automatically, stretch and loop it.
File with 4096 samples or more: The synth will automatically tune, stretch and loop the sample. It will then resynthesize a custom waveform from the middle section of the sound.

'Custom Wave ->save Wave ' exports the waveform as a sample files (.wav file extension).

'Custom Wave ->random Wave ' generates a random waveform.

Tone2 Electra3 / Custom Wave Window
« Last post by Dumtek on April 22, 2024, 01:46:49 PM »
In Electra 3, in the Custom wave selction pop out window, it seems i  cannot see the  bottom 2 wavs in each maxed out row. Of course it is possible to reach these hidden wavs via scrolling in the osc itself, but wondered if there was a way. I have tried different GUI sizes and two different DAWs, but to no avail.  One more thing, is it possible to import wavetables into the allotted wavetable section?

Any ideas or work arounds?

Icarus / Re: bought icarus 2 with a free upgarade but now being charged
« Last post by Markus Krause on April 22, 2024, 10:08:32 AM »
Hello Geoff,

You do not have to pay for the upgrade. The upgrade is free for anyone who bought Icarus2 directly from tone2.com after November 2023.

If you did not receive the email with the free upgrade/download links please check out your spambox.
It also seems that you used a different email adress for your order than you have used for your forum account.

I did sent the email with the download link to you again to s*******@googlemail.com .

If you need further assistance you can contact us at support[ a t]tone2[do t].com. We will take care of you.

Best Regards,
Markus Krause

Q: What?s the difference between Tone2 Electra2, Tone2 ElectraX and Tone2 Electra3 and do the presets all work in 3?

A: Tone2 ElectraX was the fist version of the synth it was released around 2011. Around 2014 it was replaced with Tone2 Electra2 (= ElectraX v2.0). The latest version is Tone2 Electra3.
All older presets work in the most recent version.

Thanks for sharing some sound-design tipps. I tried it with drumloops and having good results.

I frequently used the function in sound-design for enhancing vocoder and drumloop sounds. It works like a limiter/compressor

Thanks a lot for your explanation. I tried "Maximize volume" only 1 time. But pressing it several times really does the trick. Now that I know about the incremental boosts I have even more use cases for that function which is great.
