Title: What exactly does the "Clip" button do in the feedback section?
Post by: Burkuagh on April 02, 2011, 12:40:26 PM
I cannot find it in the manual and I don't notice any change when toggling it.

Under normal conditions the 'clip' does not do any changes to the sound.
In the case of a feedback loop (feedback turned to 100%) it will protect your ears and speakers by limiting the gain of the signal.

Ahh, and this is then the same for the clip function on Gladiator 2's dedicated feedback/delay function (after the amp envl)? I wondered what that was for myself, but just always left it switched on as I had a hunch that this is what it was for  ;)

Yes. They both work in the same way. I recommend to turn it on when you use feedback in the effect section during sound design. When you got the desired result you can switch it off and then save the patch.

Thanks much.  That's what I figured but I tried to get it to overload but couldn't get it to happen the way it does in Gladiator.  I am still scared to use the one in gladiator at all after doing some actual damage to my ears with it about a year ago.   :P
