Title: Any way to import custom noise/sample files into Gladiators OSC 5?
Post by: Bodiah22 on August 05, 2018, 05:40:42 AM
Is there any way for me to load my own samples in the Gladiator OSC 5 noise/sample oscillator?

Hello Bodiah,

this is possible from the technical side, but it is not officially supported.
If you want to load own samples i recommend that you use Electra or Icarus. Here the samples that you import are stored automatically with your songs and patches.

Best Regards,
Markus

Thanks for getting back to me! Would you be willing to share how I could do it in Gladiator, even though it is not officially supported? Does it just need to take a certain kind of .wav file? :)

I’d be interested in playing around with it for fun.

here is how it works:

1) Install the "State of Art Expansion"
2) Save a 16 bit PCM mono wav file and rename it to 106MySound.gls in Gladiator3_data
3) Delete the chache files 106MySound.1, 106MySound.2, 106MySound.3, 106MySound.4 if they exist
4) Restart Gladiator

Please keep in mind that it's a dirty hack. It could even crash Gladiator and i can't give any guarantee that it works. Furthermore the sounds are not properly stored with your songs/patches.

Thanks for the info about that. I appreciate it (even if it is a dirty hack)!  ;)
