You can enhance the visual sharpness if you use the resolution 1280x720p in 16:9 format.

I was facing a similar problem a week ago and was wondering why youtube did not provide 720p playback on the video. To make things even worse the internet explorer does also not play 480p as a fallback. As a result the video was played in ugly 360p resolution. :-[
