Dance/Trance expansion vs Electronic
« on: December 14, 2009, 12:00:30 AM »
Hello, I bought the Electronic expansion some weeks ago, it seems that most of the addition (filters, effetcs,..) in the new Dance/Trance expansion were already in the Electronic expansion, except of course the presets, is that correct or what is really new compare to the previous one ?
Thanks

Several users have requested an improved downward and cross-version compatibility for home-made patches.
Our sound designers have requested that the additional effects should be also available for the next expansion's sound design, to provide a larger sonic range and a more inspiring framework. That's why some effects are available in both expansions.

Both expansions include a large number of features which are exclusive.

You can find more details about the features here:

Markus Feil

------------------------------------------

The Electronic expansion

The 'Electronic expansion' is a big preset and feature expansion pack for Gladiator 2. Designed by the professional sound designers Markus Feil, Bryan 'Xenos' Lee and Bastiaan van Noord, 'Electronic' is a collection of more than 300 sounds and new add-on features.

Impressive arpeggiator sequences, resonant basses, groovy drumlines, vocaloid sounds, cutting leads, chiptune sounds, techno stabs, rhythmic trancegates, deep housechords, atmospheric pads and ambient textures are among the many types of electronic sounds featured inside this expansion. A must have if you're looking for new sounds or if you want to expand Gladiator with more features.

Expansion highlights:

300+ inspiring, unique presets aimed at miscellaneous genres of electronic music. The additional sounds can be accessed directly from the interface.
Stereo Trancegate: Featuring no less then 22 patterns for rhythmic gate effects
Reverb Ultra: Reverb Ultra uses a new high-quality reverb algorithm, its soft and diffuse sound make it especially suitable for larger rooms and sculpting the proper ambience.
Three new early reflection effects: Early reflection, reverse reflection and gated reflection
Aliaser: A LoFi retro-effect that works by mirroring the signal's spectrum at the cutoff frequency
Stereo Enhance: A stereo width effect, equipped with a High-Shelf filter to expand the stereo field while keeping the
lower frequencies intact.
Three additional skins as free bonus content: Black, gold and red skin

The Dance & Trance Expansion

Dance & Trance adds a large number of exciting new features and a collection of 324 ingeniously programmed sounds by professional sound designers. It is suitable for a wide range of genres including Dance, Trance, House, Electronica, Ambient, Disco, Synthpop, Drum & Bass, Breakbeat, Industrial, IDM and Techno.
It’s a must have if you're looking for new sounds, or want to expand Gladiator with more features.

Expansion highlights:

324 inspiring, unique presets aimed at miscellaneous genres of electronic music by 8 professional sound designers
8 additional high-end filter types
2 additional analog modeled distortion types
A innovative new waveshaper
Trancegate
7 additional effects
Filters

LP Dirty1 / LP Dirty2: Two analog modeled filters, with an MS20-like resonance and non-linearities.

LP Voca1/ LP Voca2: Two non-linear filters with resonance which sounds similar to the human voice.

BP Moog: An analog modeled Moog bandpass with soft resonance.

EQ Wide: Soft sounding equalizer which attenuates a broad spectrum.

Allpass: A mystic filter that passes all frequencies but alters the phase of the signal.

Comb-: A comb filter which is useful for flanging or physical modeling sounds.

Distortion

Asymetric: This distortion simultes non-linearities of old gear. It sounds similar to certain famous products from competing companies...

Soft: This distortion sounds like an old analogue tube with soft saturation.

Synthesis modules

Waveshape2: This innovative dynamic processor is a new step of evolution in waveshaping synthesis. It offers an unique and clean sound and adds some kind of vocaloid character.

the Dance & Trance  expansion is calling me...but for the fx i can set warmverb after gladiator offcourse...still need to check abstracts, xenos bank for gladiator and still must organise the default ones,so no immediate rush for the presets.what i want are the dirty/vocal filters(the other ones i have in filterbank & bifilter  offcourse ) and the 3 distortions.
i thought it would be cool to let people buy what they need,so customising gladiator!
