Migrating to Gladiator v2.4 AU in Logic

This article refers to the AU version of Gladiator on Mac. If you are on PC or use the VST version on Mac you can ignore it. The tips which are given within this article might also help with other plugins from other companies.

Gladiator v2.4 comes with a 64 bit Mac version.
Unfortunately Apple decided to drop support for the Carbon framework and force all developers and users to upgrade to a new technology called Cocoa. That's why we and many other companies had to rewrite large parts of the sourcecode and the AU interface.
The price for 64 bit support on Mac is that the preset format of Gladiator v2.3 and 2.4 may not longer be compatible within Logic.
If you use Logic and if you got a large number of songs made with Gladiator v2.3 or lower you might prefer to leave v2.3 on your computer installed instead of installing the free update to v2.4.

Migrating your own patches to v2.4 in Logic:

One solution is that you save your presets with Gladiator v2.3 from within Gladiator by clicking the 'save' button. Then you will be able to load it to Gladiator v2.4 with the 'load' button.

We recommend that you always save and load presets from within our plugins and not from within the hosts. This makes sure that you are able to load and save presets also when you change your host, change from PC to Mac or if the technical platform changes (as from Gladiator v2.3 32 bit to v2.4 64 bit).

----------------------------------

Migrating your old songs to Gladiator v2.4:

1) Load the song in Logic
2) The preset broser in Gladiator will show 'Welcome'
3) Select the patch
4) Save your song
