Hi Markus, I said this on kvr but I know you prefer things being said here.

your Gladiator insists on keeping its data folder in the vst plugin folder on mac...
Fortunately you haven't done it since with your other plugins.
But no other developer does that, only vst plugins in the vst plugins folder.
Actually I think my screenshot is the tidied version of what your installer does/did.

Hello zvenx,

when Gladiator1 was released more than 10 years ago there was only a vst version.  That's why Gladiator_data was stored within the vst directory. All our updates were downward compatible. The AU version came some years later later with v2.4.

In general the files must be stored somewhere on the harddisc. Gladiator needs them to operate. Where do you think the directory should be stored instead?

Please note that changing the location will result in many duplicate files on the systems of most users when they run the Gladiator3 installer without uninstalling the previous version. They will also loose harddisc space.

I added your request to the Gladiator3 beta thread.

Markus

Thanks.....yes for those of us it bothers I imagine most would know how to move and delete etc.

There are three main areas I see other developers put their resources.

1. HD/Library/Application Support/DevelopersName/Subfolders for each product
2. HD/Library/DevelopersName/Subfolders for each product
3. either of the above but presets in HD/Library/Audio/Presets

I am not sure if the third step is needed, just either method 1 or 2.
Maybe I can try to get some consensus.
thanks

"- Handbooks have been moved to Gladiator3_data
- on the Mac support files are now stored in /Library/Application Support/Tone2/Gladiator3_data/"

Great news.
Thanks

Btw, I had to try to figure out what Handbooks were :)
We would normally say Manual or even Operation Manuals in English :)
